Pennant for Pompey

It was a nail biting tie with Bristol City on Tuesday night, that saw us clinch the game through David James' superb performance following some great instinct saves and a penalty save, and Crouch handball it in Pompey's penalty area before going up and scoring the other end, but oh well it's about time we got some good luck.

And it seems that the start of our good fortunes is set to arrive in the form of Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant.

Pompey have had a bid for the winger accepted by Liverpool, thought to be in the region of £2million. The speedster has had been subject to interest from top clubs such as Real Madrid and AC Milan, but it seems that Pompey have won the race after the Pompey official site has confirmed that Pompey are to hold person talks with the ex-Birmingham and Arsenal midfielder.

Pennant is exactly what Pompey need at the moment. A bit of pace on the right-side of midfield to match Traore and Belhadj's pace and work ethic.

Hopefully the deal will be completed before the weekend so we can murder Spurs with our pacey new winger.
